The European Consumer Centre Italy: in Rome and Bolzano...
The activities of the European Consumer Centre (ECC) Italy - Bolzano office are targeted towards consumers resident in Italy with complaints against traders based in an other EU Member State, Iceland, Norway, and the UK. It is part of the Network of European Consumer Centres (ECC-Net) established by the European Commission in each EU Member State, Iceland, Norway, and the UK in order to assist consumers with cross-border problems.ECC Italy - Bolzano office is funded by the European Commission, by the Italian Ministry for Economical Development, by the Autonomous Province of Bozen - South Tyrol and by the Autonomous Region Trentino - Alto Adige/Südtirol. It is hosted by the Verbraucherzentrale Südtirol-Centro Tutela Consumatori ed Utenti dell'Alto Adige (VZS - CTCU).
The services of ECC are free of charge and aim at solving issues in extrajudicial settlements.

The ECC-Net (European Consumer Centres Network) is a Network of 30 Centres established in every EU Country – Norway, Island, UK included – which offers free help and advice to consumers on cross-border purchases.The Network was founded in 2005 by the European Commission in collaboration with the national governments of each Member State.
Between 2005 and 2014 more than 650.000 consumers turned to the European Consumer Centrs asking for help and advice. Many centres have been working already for 20 years, like the European Consumer Centre Italy – Office of Bolzano, which was founded in 1996 and started already from the beginning cooperating within the then European Network Euroguichet and managing cross-border cases.
